Yoga
Inspired by the New Moon
The Short Explanation:
Slow flow yoga: carefully crafted movement / meditation and a little bit of journaling – to tap into your highest intuition.
Leave feeling both energised and relaxed.
For those that want to know more:
The moon is always sitting in the energies of one of the 12 zodiac signs. Each sign gives us something very specific and tangible that we can work with in our own psyches.
When you work with the moon all year – you’ll cover the full and new moon in all 12 signs – it allows a thoughtful and comprehensive reflection of all areas of your mind, body and soul.
We simplify:
Each zodiac is made up of one of the 4 elements – fire, earth, water or air.
This provides the foundation for our themes.
If the moon is in an air or fire sign, you can expect the class to be slightly more energising and uplifting. To burn out stagnation and allow inspiration to flow freely.
If the moon is in an earth or water sign, you can expect the class to be slightly slower, with a strong emphasis on grounding and deep feeling. In order to be fully present and gain stability and ease in the body and mind.
All sessions will be a gentle balance of all elements – with thoughtfully adjusted focuses to tap into the cosmic energy available to us.
Music!
The music is curated with strong intention, to take you on a journey. Choosing the music in perfect harmony with the energy requirements of the class is actually my greatest passion, and the thing I am hoping to develop further through the next few years.
I promise to keep the astrology speak light – this is not an astrology class.
With an emphasis on slow flow movements – my focus is more YIN – soft, gentle (like the moon herself).
We won’t worry about our alignment or our muscles, but it is all about releasing fascia!
Your body is made up of a spider web of fascia (the white stringy bits we cut out of meat). This fascia is highly intelligent, and when looked at under a microscope contains drops of fluid – like dew drops on a spider web.
Releasing fascia is how we learn to relax. Let go and make space – this allows our intuition and energy to run freely.
Another key focus is our energy channels – our chakras and meridians. As our subtle energy flows, our intuition follows – gently working with our subtle energy bodies is literally magic in motion and is the key to ‘dropping in’ to that cosmic energy I mentioned.
Meditation and Savasana – the chance to relax and integrate is crucial – we will find many ways to drop into the liminal space. You will experience peace in every cell of your body.
There will be carefully chosen journal prompts for you to slowly guide yourself in the right direction – however that feels for you.
There will be an invitation to share with the group for 2 mins. Respectfully, this is absolutely not necessary – you are encouraged to say no thank you to this part if that feels right for you.
But a small share is extremely powerful. It allows you to feel seen and heard and in a symbiotic way, the group can also relate to your share which gives extra perspective in their own lives – it also consolidates whatever you are releasing or calling in.
Either way this part is protected with privacy and respect.
